STEAMBOAT

Steamboat, Colorado:

I took a trip (I drove 5 hours by myself there and back) to Steamboat last week to play with my sister-in-laws, Ali, and more friends!

There were 7 women and 8 children staying together. We had so much fun it even made all the babies fall asleep in awkward positions.
My dearest Ali was the best ever to drive up and meet me there so I could play with her.  We had too much fun reading books--we are quite hooked on the Hunger Games trilogy.
Lauren is Mitch's sister, and she brought her too adorable kids Daxton and Aubrey.  I think our kids will turn out toe heads like hers. I don't get enough time to play with Lauren since she lives in Vernal.
These are my two sister-in-laws on Mitch's side--Lauren and Keera. I have three sister-in-laws total (one on my side) and they are the absolute best sisters ever!!!!
When we were at the park, the sprinklers came on, and we all got wet whether by choice or not. Kemarie (age 5) got so wet, that when she would run around, her skirt and undies fell down cause they were so heavy--yes she got to moon the whole park!
Steamboat even included the craziest car,
 breath-taking scenery,
real springs,
children who don't want to pose for pictures,
babies with the most kissable cheeks,
and messy faces,
and bug eyes,
and really awkward tan lines (Ali's wasn't in an appropriate place for a picture)
and yummy desserts EVERY night after kids go to bed!

Thank you for the fun week girls!!

The Help

This book, made me cry.
It made me laugh, it made me smile,
it made me frustrated, it made me evaluate who I am,
and what type of woman I want to be.

You MUST read this book. It is a favorite of mine.
Thank you to Kelsey for lending me your copy,
I had to buy my own when I was finished, so that I could always have it.

Miss Skeeter sounds like she could be my best friend.  Aibileen feels like a grandma to me,
and Minny could possibly be my favorite.  I love these characters.

P.S. Adrienne, thank you for coming to play with me on Memorial Day!

New Apartment

Mitch and I moved across Cougar Town.  We now live in a spacious apartment, something that is quite luxurious compared to our last place. Today I was especially grateful for our new apartment when I had to go to work. Thank goodness for a covered parking spot that prevented me from having to scrape my windows from this SNOW in the end of May! Anyway, this is just an invite to come an visit us at our new apartment.  We love visitors.  You can even spend the night, we have 2 extra bedrooms!

Summer Cautionary Note

During the school year, I am great about checking my email--I have to in order to be a good TA! And as such, I was really good at checking blogs frequently and somewhat frequently (at least for me) blogging myself this last school year.
Now it is summer, and I fail to check my email as regularly as I should. But I will do my best to not drop off the face of the earth. I will still check blogs and sometimes put a post up myself, but bare with me!
Once June 7th comes and goes, Mitch and I will have more exciting things to talk about besides work and studying.  However, I do have an AWESOME weekend coming up....
A wedding, girl's weekend out with mom and sisters, super fun date with Mitch on Saturday, the Jazz vs. Lakers...what more can you ask for on the first weekend in May?
Oh yes, and I get to honor my Mother--the best in the world!

Tribute To April

t Today as I sat in class, I had a hard time focusing, and I mean a really hard time. Thank goodness April is only 3 days away! School will be done soon and the blossoms will be in full bloom. And the best thing about April is that I get to start it the best way every year:
Easter and conference with my family
April, I am so glad to see you!
Happy Easter everyone!

Ramekins....

I love Creme Brulee. Did you know that? I love it so, I even registered for a creme brulee set for my wedding. Unfortunately, those small little ramekins aren't big enough for what I had in mind. So I went and bought 8 BIGGER ramekins. And then I made creme brulee for Mitch and I...it was delightful. But you know what else is great about these ramekins? I can make Chocolate Souffle in them too! This melting chocolate just warms you right up with the proper amount of whip cream! if you are ever in the mood for a delightful treat, come by and I'll make you souffle or brulee!
